The History Of Lilleshall Pantomine

Mother Goose - 2003

The initial script for this production was written by Carol Thompstone, whose daughter Claire had been in many Shows from being a small child to a teenager until she had left the company to seek her future away at university. Yet Carol had still remained loyal to the group and supported them every year by coming to the Shows.

The initial script was developed with additional material by Sue Pritchett and other ideas were added by members of the cast. The Show was directed by Chris Wales, who although working away from the area, made the long journey after work to direct the pantomime. Chris encouraged the cast to bring new ideas and develop them, creating dynamic choreography. Graham Gibson took on the role of the Goose wearing a fabulous costume, designed and created by the Producer, Evelyn Wales... (yeah...Chris's Mum!)

Robert took over from Simon as Musical Director as Simon Phillips moved on to new pastures, joining a musical theatre group and taking on more leading roles. Eleanor Jones returned once again to play the music, Celia Fox turned up and organised the talented team of artists to paint the scenery and opening night drew ever closer. Bill Workman returned after a year away from the Group and showed a flair for writing comedy skits and jokes. This information was filed away for the future. He and Ken Tomlinson proved to be quite a comic duo! Another new family had joined the group, from Mum, Samantha Lampitt, being in the chorus last year, now joined by both her young children, Charlotte and Victoria. 'Dad' Lampitt, Rob, seen hovering in the background and showing an interest in the technical side of things...he was quickly drawn in to assist with lighting and sound! The whole Shaw family were also involved now, with Dad, Andrew and son Daryl up on stage, Daughters Tania and Samantha working Front of House and Mum, Jackie taking on the job of prompt! Lovely costumes were organised again by Margaret Hullin who also did all the children's choreography. Another Lilleshall Pantomime success!
